PimpWars Launched On Facebook

Our second facebook application is live! PimpWars.

If you are a facebook user, you can check it out here - http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?api_key=ccaf232ee5fd57c0ec1f5584475a2990

This application uses the pikipimp architecture but is rebuilt from the ground up to get the best experience possible for facebook users.

We learned quite a bit from our pikipimp facebook application and used the gained knowledge on how to gain more users quickly within this app. So lets wait a few days and see how it goes!

-small update on the pikipimp facebook application - Previously we stated how we added more viral "stuff" into pikipimp facebook, well it looks like it starting to work. Yesterday we increased our new users for the day by 5. Thats x5 not +5.. hehe.

Here we go!

At 1.22pm Australian eastern standard time we pushed up the affiliate system to the live server.
This means at the moment their are links from both pikistrips.com and pikipimp.com to create your own image sites. This will be interesting to monitor how much through traffic these small links get.

Later today we will spread the news to the blogging world about this "amazing" application we are launching. We are very sure we will be "mashabled", and hoping to get "techcrunched".

Its a very exciting time here at Pikicentral, and coinciding with this release, we have redeveloped our facebook app, and starting on Pimpwars!.

Ill keep you updated how the launch is going.

The facebook excersize

Our facebook application launched, with lets be honest, not the success we  thought we would have. So instead of this being a failure, its turned itself into an lesson learned and a new opportunity. Part of our mistake with the facebook application, is we presumed a little to much, and we did a liitle to little. What do I mean by this?

Well we presumed facebook worked a little more like myspace, and we did too little by not adding the real viral component into the application.

Currently the pikipimp application doesn't make use of the valuable real estate offered by the facebook platform, the profile! If you create a pimped image within facebook at the moment, you dont get to see this image directly on your profile, it only appears in your gallery, big mistake!

So we are back to computer screens, fixing the errors of our ways, and look to relaunch in a few days. I suppose you think, yeah thats a pretty basic mistake, and well yes it is, but what has opened up for us is an even cooler application built on the same pikipimp framework, and just for facebook - pimpwars (coming soon).

Pikipimp Facebook Application Launched

Ok, we have been pretty busy here at Pikicentral. Whilst working on getting the Pikicentral platform ready for public release we have managed to squeeze in releasing Pikipimp on facebook. Its early days yet, so we will keep you updated on the success of the take up on Facebook.

It has made us think though, it may be a cool idea to develop popular affiliates sites for the facebook application as well, something we are just brainstormimg at the moment.

You will  see pikistrips on facebook in the future though.

Private Beta Unleashed

We have had a select few lucky people who have been exposed to the pikicentral platform a little earlier than everyone else.

So far we have had amazing feedback. We are working hard to get it out to the general public whcih should be really soon!

Here is a snapshot of one f the lucky beta testers already using the system!
You can checkout what they have created at http://photolinko.piki-art.com/pp/

Small release with big results

We publicly released pikifx.com on monday and quickly started getting reviewed on many different web2.0 / tech blogs.

Reviews have been quite good, and that is without reviewersknowing the strategic plan we have in plave for the application.

Here is a little screenshot of pikifx peaking in google.

We have a ping pong table

Do i need to explain this? , probably not. Seeing as all the top web2.0 companies have ping pong tables, i thought it best for our company morale we follow suit.

Big thanks to mark for coming in late last night and swapping the board room table for the ping pong table.
